How to read a prediction market listing: the event question, the contract, the expiry, the current price as a probability, and the legal status caveat.
Start with the event question. It defines exactly what resolves true, and any ambiguity in the wording is ambiguity in your payout. Read it twice before looking at the price.
Next, identify the contract and its expiry. The most common form is a binary option that expires at 0 or 100 percent, so the settlement date tells you how long your capital is committed.
On narrow screens, swipe or scroll the plate sideways.
Then read the current price as a probability. The market price of a contract can indicate what the crowd thinks the probability of the event is; a number like 61 is the crowd's live estimate, not a fixed odds quote.
Check the legal status before you act. Prediction markets are considered gambling by many governments and are banned in some locations, so the same market page can be readable but not tradeable depending on where you live.
Finally, note the caveat on risk. Some users and researchers have reported that prediction markets are similar to gambling and can cause addiction, and that warning belongs in any honest reading of a market listing.
